Im kommenden Frühjahr präsentiert das Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam die erste große Gesamtschau amerikanischer Fotografie in Europa. Mit über 200 Werken beleuchtet die Ausstellung American Photography die reiche und vielschichtige Geschichte der Fotografie in den USA – von intimen Alltagsmomenten bis zu größeren historischen Umwälzungen. Die Ausstellung untersucht, wie die Fotografie seit ihrer Erfindung im 19. Jahrhundert alle Lebensbereiche durchdrungen hat, ob Kunst, Reportagen, Werbung oder Privatleben.

The Rijksmuseum presents the first comprehensive survey of American photography in Europe. With more than 200 works spanning three centuries, American Photography will be an exploration of the rich and multifaceted history of photography in the United States, showing how the medium has permeated every aspect of our lives: in art, news, advertising and everyday life.
